I saw this as well. Shortly after I first booted up the MBA (11.6'/i7/4/128) both the keyboard and trackpad stopped working. I plugged in a wireless USB keyboard/mouse and those worked fine. Bluetooth recognizes my Magic Trackpad, also just fine. I checked the System Report to see what happened and I noticed that the computer no longer sees the keyboard/trackpad on the bus:

If you can't adjust your keyboard's brightness manually, it's likely because you're in a very bright environment and you have your Mac set to automatically adjust the brightness.
